Auto Battler Gameplay in Frontline Protocol - RTS & Co-op Mechanics

Auto Battler - FAQ

What is an auto battler game?

An auto battler is a turne based strategy game where units automatically engage in combat after being deployed. In Frontline Protocol, you use cards to trigger unit spawns, combining auto battler mechanics with real-time strategy elements.

How is Frontline Protocol different from other auto battlers?

Unlike traditional auto battlers, Frontline Protocol blends deckbuilding, lane control, and co-op RTS gameplay into a dynamic PvE experience.

Is this game turn-based or real-time?

It’s entirely real-time. Enemy waves, economy decisions, and card plays happen live - requiring timing, coordination, and fast tactical thinking, especially in co-op.

How does multiplayer work in an auto battler?

In online multiplay (1–4 players), you share economy, spawner buildings, and lane control. What you build benefits your team, so coordination and role distribution are key to victory.

A Unique Auto Battler

A genre fusion of tactics and co-op action

This auto-battler game combines RTS elements with cooperative tactics. In co-op, you can access the same spawners and influence enemy groups together. In battle, you share resources, eco-buildings, and your bases.

The combat system is perfect for co-op players who want to face complex opponents together. Everyone can play cards on any spawner, influence frontlines, deploy reservists, and directly intervene in battles with action cards.

This blend of auto battler mechanics and strategic deckbuilding results in a system with depth and long-term motivation - ideal for fans of tactical co-op games.

Asymmetric PvE Challenge

The enemy grows stronger - you grow smarter

Unlike classic auto battlers, where both sides use similar powers, here you fight against an increasingly powerful opponent. The enemy AI scales over time, spawning more units and mercilessly exploiting larger spawners.

Every unit you deploy is triggered by a card played onto a spawner. Those units automatically move along one of several frontlines, engage enemies, block progress and capture enemy bases - in the style of a strategy auto battler with a strong sphere of influence.

Your units act like in an auto battler - but the choice of cards and their timing are entirely up to you.
